Staff member Dalia Maron is showing at Albion St Gallery 15 Jan - 19 Feb, opening Friday 15 Jan 6-8pm. Her show, 'Expanding the Circle' comprises constructions and works on canvas in her signature style. We look forward to seeing you there!

Lorraine Maggs

Lorraine Maggs - The Lost Geologist
It's been a great year for Lorraine Maggs, an Advanced Diploma painting student. Leading up to her graduating exhibition Lorraine had a print shortlisted for the 2009 Silk Cut Lino Award, was selected as finalist in the Blake prize (for The Lost Geologist, above), and won 1st Prize ($1000) Fairfield Art Prize in the Contemporary section for her painting "Horseplay". Congratulations Lorraine!

Blood, Sweat, Tears - opening

The opening of Blood, Sweat, Tears (and other mixed media) was a great success on Thursday night, with a great attendance, several sales, and fabulous performances by talented students Dee DeMarco, Megan McCaw, and Alasdair McDonnell. The postcard packs sold out early, and everyone had very positive comments about the standard of the works. Congratulations 2nd yrs for all your hard work - it's a great show!

Opening Night @ TAP

The opening night of On The Boil was a great success, and testimony to the hard work put in by the many staff and students involved. Check out our video of the opening night speeches. Guest speaker was Anthony Bond OAM from the AGNSW.

Dobell Prize

It was wonderful to hear that two of our fabulous drawing teachers Tim Allen and Stephen Hall have been selected as finalists for the Dobell drawing prize at the AGNSW. Tim exhibited his 3.3m drawing as a work in progress in the staff show at the Trapezium gallery earlier on this year.

Sculpture by the Sea

Staff member Stephen Hall is currently exhibiting in the 13th annual sculpture by the sea. Pictured here is a detail of his work - 6th Constructive Cannibalism plus a shot of Stephen installing the work. The exhibition runs until November 15th

Fisher's Ghost

Staff members Di Holdsworth and Cathy O'Donnell are selected finalists in the 2009 Fisher's Ghost Art Award. In addition Advanced diploma (painting) student Carol Fitzgerald was selected for both the Contemporary and Works on Paper sections, Certificate IV student Arnold Freen was selected for the Works on Paper section, and former student Linda Brescia has won the Sculpture Award!

Catherine O'Donnell

Part-time staff member Cathy O'Donnell was awarded the 2009 Albury Art Prize, and will heading off next year to take up her residency in Venice.

In addition she has been highly commended in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize, and her first international solo exhibition is part of the NZ International Arts Festival (Feb-March 2010)
